Island Therapeutics CBD Review
I had the opportunity to test out almost all of the products that Island Therapeutics have on site, which was awesome.
The CBD included in the bundle was their Full Spectrum CBD oil in both 250 and 500mg, their bath salts, the CBD patches in both 20 and 40mg, and the pain cream.
The only one I didn't get to try out was the CBD Isolate tincture, but I'm a big fan of Full Spectrum products so I wasn't too sad to miss out out on it.
Island Therapeutics Transdermal CBD Patches
I'm going to start off with the transdermal CBD patches - I loved these!
Transdermal CBD products work by way of ingredients that penetrate the skin barrier, and enter the bloodstream through topical use.
This is different than normal CBD lotions and creams, the majority of which do not contain transdermal ingredients, and instead just provide localized relief at the site of application.
At the time of this review I am currently recovering from a full hysterectomy, and if you're familiar with this type of surgery you'll know that it brings a lot of swelling.
Being that CBD is such a great anti-inflammatory, these were perfect in helping to keep my swelling down.
I was also very nauseated in the days after surgery, and barely able to keep even water down, let alone take any form of CBD orally.
These patches enabled me to still get my CBD in, and not have to worry about trying to choke down the oil, which was a lifesaver.
The patches are fairly small, not quite half the size of the package it comes in.
The adhesive works great, I had no issues whatsoever in the 24 hour time period that I had them on, which is the length of time these work for.
I didn't have any problems removing them after either, though it did leave a little bit of residue on my skin, which is fairly normal for this type of application.
My normal daily dose is around 40mg of CBD for the entire day, so the 40mg patches were perfect. I could feel the effects of it within 20 minutes of putting it on.
They also come in 20mg patches as well, which I saved for when I was feeling better, and could use the oil in conjunction with it.
All in all - great product and recommend for anyone who is looking for an easy, convenient way to take CBD.
Island Therapeutics Full Spectrum CBD Oil
The CBD tinctures from Island Therapeutics come only in natural flavor, and range from 250-1000mg, in both Full Spectrum and THC free.
The carrier oil they use is MCT, which offers great bio-availability, and a milder taste than other carrier oils like hemp seed or olive oil.
I like the taste of natural CBD oils, and this one is light, refreshing, and you get the cannabis flavor coming through.
They have the droppers marked, which is great so you can see how much you're getting instead of guessing, though it was a little tough getting it to fill all the way to 1ml.
I could feel it go to work almost immediately, with the effects lasting for several hours.
Island Therapeutics 300mg CBD Pain Cream
I really liked this cream for a few reasons. Most of the CBD pain creams that I've used come with menthol or some other strong medicinal smell to them, ,which can be a bit off-putting.
This doesn't have that, and instead you get a nice, almost floral scent, with lavender being very identifiable.
All of the ingredients in this CBD cream are meant to help sooth the skin. Some of the highlights:
- Aloe leaf
- Avocado
- Jojoba
- Palm fruit
- Vitamin E, A, C, B5
- White willow bark
- Rosehip seed oil
The cream rubs in nicely and doesn't leave any greasy residue, and was especially nice to use on my skin right after surgery when I wasn't feeling great, not only for the scent, but because of how moisturizing it was.
I was also extremely sore, and this went a long way towards easing some of the aches I had.
The bottle comes with a pump for easy dispensing, I only wish it came in a higher CBD concentration, as it is just the one strength available.
Island Therapeutics Rejuvenating Bath Salts
I only just discovered the joy of Epsom salts last year, and man, was I ever missing out. Epsom salts are magnesium rich, and can help to relieve body aches and muscle pains.
This hand crafted Rejuvenation Blend was great, and infused with orange and lemon, very pleasantly citrus. Besides smelling amazing, I felt very relaxed and pampered after!
The bath salts come in 3 different blends, and are infused with 200mg of CBD in each bag.
The other blends are:
- Intimate Blend - infused with Sandalwood & Ylang Ylang
- Relaxation Blend - infused with Lavender & Rose
Overall Thoughts On Island Therapeutics
I loved the products from this company, especially the CBD patches and the topicals!
I like that they give back, are community focused, and you can tell from the quality of the products that they put a lot if attention and care into them.
Though the price tag is a little higher than some competitors, it is totally worth it for the handcrafted, smaller batches that they produce.
I would love to see them expand their line and include other products like capsules and gummies, I think it would be a great addition.
